Squash & Racket Ball Mini-Leagues

SQUASH & RACKETBALL MINI-LEAGUES

This mail is intended for all those who have not already committed to entering the next round of squash & racket ball mini-leagues and those who have already confirmed their unavailability.

Currently committed:

Squash - Scott Rotherham, Dave Tongeman, Stan Anderson, David Boynton, Timothy Hebb, Alan Phillips.

Racket ball - Joe Rawsthorne, John Thompson, John Cook (new member), Darren Tomlinson, Phil Robinson, Timothy Hebb, Dave Tongeman, Ken Slaughter, Malcolm Lupton.

To all other club members,

Some of you may know that John Seale is no longer in a position to manage the ‘mini-leagues’ going forward and we remain very grateful for all of his efforts to date.

In an effort now to get the mini leagues back up and running, I am communicating with you all directly to invite you to enter the squash and/or racket ball leagues, which offers good, competitive squash/racket ball for all levels of ability, and the opportunity to meet and play with other club members.

As a trial, it is planned to run the next round of mini leagues in the same way as the previous handicap tournament with each player in each league numbered (No 1 being the stronger player) and matches between leagues played on set dates, either a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening, every other week. Each round will be run over two consecutive months and an 'order of merit' will be determined after all games have been played by individual accumulated points.

For those who are interested in taking part in the mini leagues, please only do so with a commitment (for the benefit of all players) to make every effort to play your matches on the dates set or secure a replacement from the 'pool of reserves', which will be confirmed at the start of each round.

I am looking to start the next mini leagues from Monday 21 March 2022 and would be very grateful if you would confirm your interest to me by Friday 18 March 2022.

Regards

Joe Rawsthorne
