SQUASH SUBSCRIPTIONS. 3rd SQUASH COURT. ENGLAND SQUASH MEMBERSHIP.

Good morning all.

1) The annual Beverley Squash subscriptions are due to be paid by 1st October 2018. The fee for membership hasn't increased this year so please pay your relevant fee (see Beverley Squash website) into your 'My Court' account and the fee will be deducted at the beginning of October. Your account will be closed if you haven't paid by the end of October.

2) You will probably be aware, we have been granted planning permission to build a 3rd glass back squash court to be built at the front of the club. The Committee would like you to attend a meeting at the Club House next Tuesday 11th September 7pm for a Q&A session as we would also like to give other members the opportunity to get involved in this project. We are looking to create a sub-committee to help with the whole 3rd court project. Ian Taylor and myself met a builder yesterday afternoon at the club, so by next week we should have an idea of how much it will cost. Hopefully we'll see you there.

3) England Squash Membership.
Your annual fee doesn't cover you for England Squash membership. The members of the Yorkshire league teams have to be members, and if anyone else in the club is interested in obtaining individual membership, the following text will tell you the benefits of becoming a member, but it is purely voluntary.

Regards,
Neil Gregory
Chairman Beverley Squash and Racketball Club

ENGLAND SQUASH INFORMATION

Over the last year we have been working hard to improve your England Squash membership and have added further benefits for both members and clubs. Benefits now include free insurance for both clubs and players, SquashLevels membership and access to our exclusive video content as well as an improved club dashboard for managing your members online.

As agreed by the England Squash Board and Council in 2017, we are increasing the club membership fee from £10 to £12.50 per year for adult members and from £7.50 to £10 for junior members from 1 December 2018. This means we can continue to support the sport, and to bring our players and clubs further benefits and offers. Sports governing bodies are receiving less money from public funds than ever before, so it’s important for us to build a sustainable organisation via our own commercial means, including membership and sponsorship.

Where does your affiliation fee go?
We invest the affiliation fees in the development and promotion of squash, connecting its passionate community, running major events and competitions for grassroots squash through to the best players across the country.

Over the last few years we have invested heavily in the areas of the sport that we know are important to you, and your members, such as:

Getting more women and girls on court, through our ‘Squash Girls Can’ campaign
Building on the support we give to coaches and leaders, with initiatives such as our coaching courses, bursaries, and the Squash 101 app
Developing the Junior 101 programme to engage young people in playing squash in clubs and schools as part of a drive to increase youth participation in sport across the country
Increased rebate to Regional Forums to support the delivery of squash in their local areas
Investing in projects delivered by the National Forum
Hosting the AJ Bell PSA Squash World Championships in Manchester in December 2017
A portion of your England Squash affiliation fee also goes to your County Association, to support their work promoting and organising squash in your area. This is made up as follows:
At least £1 for each listed adult and junior member
Up to 20% of the court fees paid by clubs

Benefits
Don’t forget that the England Squash benefits for your individual members now include:

Public liability insurance cover of up to £10m*
Personal accident coverage which provides you with benefits if you are accidently injured whilst you are playing squash or taking part in club activities*
Free membership to the SquashLevels scoring and ranking website*
Eligibility to participate in all England Squash competitions and events*
Exclusive access to our library of ‘Raise your game’ training videos to help you improve your skills and technique*
Coaching Masterclass videos from Paul Carter and David Campion*
Exclusive access to our documentaries ‘The Golden Generation’, ‘Becoming The Wolf’ and ‘Warrior’*
New documentaries coming soon, including ‘Team England – Behind the Scenes’ – an all access all areas insight into life away at competition with the team, and ‘The Marksman’ – the story of star player James Willstrop
Early access to British Nationals and Allam British Open tickets
Up to 25% off at our selected retail partners
Quarterly member magazine
*Activated membership required

Some of these benefits are only available to members if your club is currently affiliated to England Squash, and if they activate their account on englandsquash.com. We encourage you to promote activating their England Squash accounts, so that they can get the most value from their membership. We have created posters and resources, including a membership pack, to help you do this, available in the resources area of your club dashboard.

As an affiliated club, we now provide you with club insurance as a benefit, including:
Public Liability
Cover for clubs if they are found to be legally responsible for causing bodily injury to third party (such as a member of the public or another member) or for damage to a third party’s property.
Professional Indemnity
Cover to protect an England Squash Affiliated Club for claims made against them which allege that a third party has suffered an injury or financial loss caused by negligent acts, errors or omissions during coaching activities that were provided in return for a fee.
Officers & Committee Liability
Provides cover for claims made directly against individuals at an England Squash Affiliated Club e.g. officer, committee member, director and/or trustee for alleged wrongful acts in connection with the club affairs.

As you collect the membership fees for your own members, it is your responsibility to update your members with the changes and implement them as part of your own annual subscription. We will email all members who we have details of, so that they will be aware. The price increase will take effect when your next affiliation renewal is due, as per our usual process.

If you have any questions on the change and how it will affect your club and your members you can get in touch with the membership team at membership@englandsquash.com or on 0161 231 4499.
