Beverley Squash and Racketball Tier 2 restrictions
Hello [[firstname]],
You will probably be aware that Hull and East Riding areas are going into Tier 2 lockdown after midnight on Friday night.
This has major implications for what is allowed on squash courts.
Under both Tier2 and Tier3 only the following is allowed:
Solo practice
1:1 Coaching
Games between 2 players in the same household.
Group coaching for juniors (under 18) only
All other forms of game are NOT allowed. This includes:
No games between members of the same squash bubble
No group coaching for Adults
No games of Sides or other restricted formats of the game except as allowed above.
As a committee we have identified two options going forward. We can stay open and allow the permitted options above, or we can close the club completely. Some clubs are choosing to close completely.
Currently the Beverley Squash Committee believe we should stay open and allow the permissible games to take place. So the club will remain open for now and the committee will monitor use at the club. If we see or hear about people flouting the new rules, we reserve the right to suspend individual memberships. We are hopeful that we will not have to resort to that.
It is a great shame that we have to put these rules in place, but the government guidelines, and England Squash guidelines are clear, and we need to follow them. Thank you all for your co-operation.
